What is a weed?  Traditionally, a weed is defined as a plant growing where it is not wanted.  Many of the “weeds” are actually invasive plants – exotic species from Europe or Asia that were brought into North America and flourish due to a lack of environmental controls such as competitive plants, insects, or plant diseases. 

The Agricultural and Environmental Services Department strives to develop and deliver an effective invasive weed control program in the Municipal District of Pincher Creek.
